There was always a dark side of Venomiss that people sensed, but could never really explain. What no one knew was that, as an orphan, she had been raised by creatures that feed off of the scraps left by dogs. In time, her humanity had disappeared, replaced by a poisonous thirst for survival.
As a grown woman, Venomiss possessed the smarts of a scholar and the rage of a pack animal--her beauty both timeless and innocent. Her mannerisms, however, hinted at the strength and unpredictability she carried with her. When Switchblade encountered her one night at a smoke-filled dive bar beneath the famed Ladies of the Line hourly hotel, she had been living in society’s shadows for quite some time.
Intrigued by her darkness and aware of the dangerous power behind her vulnerability, Switchblade took an interest in Venomiss. She saw that the slightest threat, the barest insult would unleash the rage living inside this former creature of the shadows. For the innocent beauty of Venomiss was only skin deep—inside she was a vial of anthrax, an H Bomb in a silo, waiting to destroy anyone crazy or unlucky enough to set her off.
No stranger to the streets, Switchblade wanted to help Venomiss learn to harness her dangerous inner fire for strategic use at opportune moments. Gradually, she began to train Venomiss in the fierce practice of Double Dutch. Late at night the two women would often head out to a nearby alley where they would jump relentlessly for hours, bathed in moonlight.
As Switchblade had hoped, Venomiss discovered that there was something that helped her gain control over her animalistic urges for violent attack—her unconditional love for the very ropes that she knew had the power to take her down. And with that, she became exponentially more dangerous.
